According to a recent World Helath Organization(WHO) report,
6.2 litters of alcohol per capita was consumed in 2010 and 3.3 million died of heavy alcohol.
Click the link published by WHO and find out which country is the heaviest or lightest in the world! It might be fun.
Well, as I am Korean, What a shame! Republic of Korea ranked at 15th in the world and 1st in Asia, that Koreans 15 and older consumed 12.3 liters of alcohol per person in 2010. What a shame. Look at the Japanese consumption. They drank less than Koreans with 7.2 litters per person in 2010. After work, Koreans flock together and have dinner, we call it 'Hoesik'. It is normally thrown 3~4 times a week.(source) No doubt why Koreans are now known for the heaviest drinking Asian country.
It is never a piece of cake to quit drinking alcohol. But there are so many reasons doctors persuade public to quit it. Drinking plenty of alcohol increases such health risks like high blood pressure, stroke, obesity, accidents, liver cirrhosis, gastric cancer, etc. More importantly, it affects cardiovascular risks hugely.
