◈ What is HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)?
It’s a device that combined surgical ultrasonic producer and diagnostic ultrasonic producer. It checks the location of cancer and focuses ultrasonic waves to the cancer cell, applying heat rays of more than 70~100 degrees to necrotize and cure cancer cells.
◈ Advantages of HIFU
ㅇ No complications nor side effects since radiation is not used.
ㅇ Can be implemented with other therapies, such as radiation or anti-cancer drugs, and can also be repeated.
ㅇ Provides comfort by allowing outpatient treatment.
ㅇ Treatment without anesthesia and pain.
ㅇ No addictive function on normal cells and organs, leading to fast cure.
ㅇ Possibility of live treatment, with high accuracy and minimization of damage of surrounding area. Possibility of singular, repetitive, and conjoined therapy.
ㅇ Increase of immune system to cancer, and decrease of pain.
ㅇ Not only necrosis of center cells from heat, but also inducement of cells’ suicide, which all lead to cure of tumor.
ㅇ Excellent effect on terminal pancreatic cancer and pain reduction.
ㅇ Possibility of treatment and confirmation of the treatment, at the same time.
◈ Diseases that can be cured
ㅇ Liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, uterine myoma
ㅇ Thyroid cancer, prostate cancer
ㅇ Breast cancer
ㅇ Retroperitoneal cancer
ㅇ Malignant bone tumor
ㅇ Pain for terminal cancer patients
